Parliamentary Forum at the 2026 UN High Level Political Forum on sustainable development.


Entitled The SDGs at a critical juncture: Taking stock of implementation, turbocharging action, and envisioning the future of sustainable development, the event will begin with a focus on SDG 11 on sustainable cities and communities, one of five goals under review at the 2026 HLPF. It will continue with a discussion on the SDG framework as a whole and the way forward for sustainable development after 2030.

A Special Event of the official HLPF session, the Parliamentary Forum provides an opportunity for parliamentary oversight of government action as well as for an exchange of best legislative practices on sustainable development from parliaments around the world.

This year's Parliamentary Forum will begin with a focus on SDG 11 on sustainable cities and communities, one of five goals under review at the 2026 HLPF. The rest of the session will be devoted to a discussion on the SDG framework as a whole and the way forward for sustainable development after 2030.

3rd Meeting, Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament.

  The Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament, organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), in close collaboration with the United Nations, will take place from 29 to 31 July 2025 at the Palais des Nations. The Conference, first established in 2000 on the eve of the United Nations Millennium Summit, aims to provide a unique forum for high-level engagement and dialogue among parliamentary leaders from around the world. Previous Conferences, held every five years since then, have served as catalysts for shaping and strengthening the parliamentary dimension of global governance, thereby helping to bridge the democracy gap in international affairs. Parliamentary Forum (LLDC3).

   The LLDC3 Parliamentary Forum takes place on 4 August 2025 in Turkmenistan, alongside the  Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries  on 5-8 August 2025. The Forum will consist of high-level plenary and interactive dialogues on the priority areas of APoA and the role of parliamentarians in supporting its effective implementation.
