The Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan celebrates IPU's 136th Anniversary.

The Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan commemorated the International Day of Parliamentarism by sending a congratulatory letter to the IPU, noting the importance of 2025’s theme, Achieving gender equality, action by action and that strong parliaments are the cornerstone for democracy.

11th IPU Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians.

With gender equality taking centre stage worldwide, both as the IPU’s priority theme for 2025 and as we mark the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Plan of Action, the Eleventh IPU Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians will focus on how both young and more senior MPs can unite to accelerate progress on advancing equality between men and women . The Conference is taking place from 11 to 13 September 2025 in Lima, Peru.  National parliaments are invited to send a delegation of up to four young parliamentarians (under the age of 40) to participate in the Conference. Delegations should be composed of representatives of both sexes and parliaments are encouraged to include their youngest members. Exceptionally, given this Conference’s emphasis on intergenerational dialogue, parliaments are invited to include in the delegation one more senior MP in addition to the four young MPs. Angolan Parliamentarians celebrates IPU's 136th Anniversary.

The Parliament of Angola held a workshop, ‘Parliamentary Action for Food and Nutritional Security” in the National Assembly on June 30 to commemorate the International Day of Parliamentarism 2025. The workshop aimed to promote reflection and debate on the Parliament’s role in advancing food and nutritional security in Angola, with a focus on inclusive public policies, institutional effectiveness, and social justice.
